First night in the forest

Subject: First night in the forest Sat Sep 19, 2009 12:19 pm

Ashlee had spent a few hours walking through Viridian Forest. It was starting
to get dark and shed decided to set up camp for the night. She'd just done
with setting up the tent and was know trying to light a small fire for warmth
and light. "Come on..." She muttered, then fell backwards when a flame
sparked and the fire started. "Well...that works as well." She mumbled to
herself. Finally able to sit down, she settled for sitting just by the entrance
of her tent, with her Eevee watching her curiously from next to the fire. She
figured that the small pokemon was there for the warmth, but then, it could
just be sat there to stay away from her. Since Profesor Oak had given her the
Eevee, the pokemon had taken a strong disliking to her and she couldn't
understand why.

Alice had just been separated from her travelling partner by a small landslide at a small cliff back a bit. She was tired, dirty, exhausted and battered and bruised, and only hoped the lake wasn't too far away. Her Happiny was following her with her catapie behind that. Both just as tired and bruised as her. That's when she head a noise...like fire crackling. She walked into the clearing to see a tent, she was still in the darkness so she couldn't be seen. She smiled and headed towards the camp.
"Hi"
She said upon seeing a girl and then she collapsed on the ground. Her HAppiny and Catapie too collapsed, one on either side of her.

Ashlee looked up when she heard a girl's voice. "Hi?" She
questioned cautiously. Then she saw the girl collapse - as
well as her pokemon. "Oh my!" She gasped, jumping to her
feet and running over to the girl. "Oh my..." She mumbled,
brushing the hair from the girl's face. "Hello? Can you hear
me?" Meanwhile, Eevee raised it's head and turned to look
at the collapsed pokemon. After a moment of consideration,
she got up and trotted over to the Happiny and sniffed it
before turning it's head away.

What seemed like a second later she woke up. She lifted her head slowly and saw she was sitting just outside the tent. Her Happiny and Catapie lay next to her.
"Ugh"
She said getting up. Her pokemon too slowly stirred. She picked up her Happiny and let her Catapie crawl on her shoulder as she stood up and looked up at the sky. The sun had just started to rise.
"How long was I out?"
She asked out loud to herself. She then looked round the area.

Ashlee looked up from her place by the fire. The girl and her
pokemon had woken up. "Morning." She said softly, smiling.
"You collapsed by my fire last night." She held out a pot with
cooked food. "You should eat something." She added.

Alice said taking the plate.
"I must of gave you quite the scare just fainting in front of you like that"
She said sitting down. Her pokemon sitting next to her.
"I'm Alice, what's your name?"

"I'm Ash." Ashlee said kindly. "And yes. You did give me
quite a scare." She added with a smile as she grabbed her
backpack and unzipped it. She pulled out a bag of pokefood
and two small bowls. She then filled each bowl with some
food and put them near Alice. "Your pokemon must need to
gain their strength as well." She explained. "So. What happened
last night?" She added as Eevee trotted out of the tent and
over to one of the bowls.

Happiny happily eat from it's bowl however when Eevee came over to Catapie's bowl it glared at her and used string shot her stopping her from moving any closer to the bowl and then it happily eat it's food. Alice looked embarrassed about the Catapie.
"Oh I-I'm sorry"
She said picking up the Eevee to see if she could break the string.
"She's pretty stuck in"
She said, a small smirk on her lips, as the only part not cocooned by the thread was it's head.

"Eve..." The trapped Eevee growled at the Caterpie. She
looked up at Alice with an expectant look in her eyes. "It's
okay." Ashlee laughed weakly. "Eevee needs to learn some
manners." She said, making the Eevee growl again.

"Here"
She said handing over Eevee.
"I'm having trouble getting her out"
She said with a sheepish smile. The pokemon had now finished their food and were chasing eachother. Catapie being it and Happiny running.
"It seems my Catapie likes it's food a bit"
Alice chuckled and looked at Eevee.
"So I take it your Eevee isn't a great fan of you yet"

Eevee nodded in agreement to Alice's statement. Ashlee
sighed and nodded as well, taking the Eevee from her. "Yeah."
She said quietly, pulling a small switch-knife from her belt and
cutting the thread from Eevee who immediately leapt from
her arms and ran over to Caterpie and Happiny. "Eevee!" It
said, much more happily.

The two pokemon stopped and looked at Eevee, a bit unsure. Happiny walked over and poked Eevee's nose while Catapie simply glared at her.
"Well she'll like you in the end"
Looking back to the girl she remembered something.
"Oh have you seen a boy around here? With a Riolu and a Aipom?"
She asked rather urgently.
"It's really important, oh and have you seen any team rocket members?"

Ashlee shook her head. "No. I can't say I have." She said,
answering everything the girl had suddenly asked her. "Did...
did something happen?" A look of worry crossed her soft
features and she dropped her gaze for a moment. Startled,
Eevee studied Happiny for a moment, her head tilted to the
side before her ear perked up. "Eevee!" She cried happily,
touching her nose to Happiny.

Happiny stared blankly at the Eevee and then pushed her away by the nose.
"Hap-Hap"
It laughed.
"Yes something happened, look at the state of me"
Alice said pointing to her dirty appearance.
"I hardly looked in my closet and went 'Hmmm I think I'll go out in my dirty clothes today'"
Alice narrowed her eyes as to show she was being sarcastic.
"Me and my friend were attacked by Team Rocket and were split"
Her tone lowered, showing she was telling the truth.

Ashlee's head shot up and she stared at Ashlee. "They...they
stole my brother's Raichu about a year ago." She said slowly.
Then she got to her feet, dropping her bag on the floor. "I'll
help you find your friend." She said, smiling. The first response
she noticed was Eevee turning to glare at her.

"You don't have to, they told me to go to the lake near here, he gave me a map and I don't know the area, so I'd rather go there"
Alice said looking down to the side.
"You don't have to come either I'd be happy to go on my own, I'm good with maps"
Alice stood up slowly.
"Thank you for taking care of me"

Ashlee nodded and smiled softly. "Alright. I better pack up
camp anyway." She laughed softly, running her fingers
through her hair. "Maybe we'll bump into each other again
and hopefully in a better situation."

Alice said to her pokemon, Hiphap jumped up into her arms and Catapie crawled onto her shoulder.
"I'll be seeing you around"
Alice said and walked off into the forest in the direction of the lake.
